Bamboo pulp fiber is a type of fiber made from bamboo chips, which are then converted into pulp and wet spun into fibers. Its production and processing process is basically similar to that of viscose. However, during the processing process, the natural characteristics of bamboo are disrupted, and the deodorization, antibacterial, and UV protection functions of the fibers are significantly reduced p>
Product characteristics
1. Moisture absorption and release properties
According to the testing method of fabric moisture drying loss rate, the comparison of moisture absorption and release properties and coolness of bamboo pulp fiber, cotton, and polyester measured by the testing method of fabric water droplet diffusion time and diffusion area is shown in Table 1 p>

Note: The two indicators of surface absorption, moisture release value, and contact cold sensation indicate hygroscopicity and coolness p> From Table 1, it can be seen that the moisture absorption and release properties of bamboo pulp fiber textiles are 2.12 times higher than those of cotton. The moisture absorption and release properties of bamboo pulp/polyester 50/50 fabric are similar to those of cotton, indicating that the fiber fabric has high moisture absorption and quick drying properties, and the tactile cool feeling is better than that of fabrics such as cotton, wool, and polyester p>
2. Moisture absorption of viscose
The moisture absorption performance of bamboo pulp fiber is significantly higher than other fibers, and is known as a breathable fiber by industry insiders. The moisture regain of bamboo pulp fiber under standard conditions is 13%, similar to that of viscose fiber. However, the moisture regain of bamboo pulp fiber can reach 45% at 20 ℃ and 95% relative humidity, and the moisture absorption speed is particularly fast. The moisture regain increases from 8.75% to 45% in just 6 hours. The moisture regain of viscose fibers is 30% at 20 ℃ and 95% relative humidity, and the moisture regain increases from 9.12 to 30%, requiring more than 8 hours p>
3. Comparison of Bacteriostasis
Bamboo pulp fibers have natural antibacterial properties. According to AATCC 6538-2002 "Technical Specification for Textile Disinfection", bamboo pulp fibers, cotton fibers, and viscose fibers were tested, and the results are shown in Table 2 p>

From Table 2, it can be seen that cotton fibers have poor antibacterial properties, The antibacterial properties of viscose fibers are not obvious, while bamboo pulp fibers have good antibacterial properties, and their antibacterial effects have a certain broad-spectrum effect p>
4. Deodorization Comparison
Bamboo pulp fiber has natural deodorization performance, mainly due to the presence of chlorophyll and chlorophyllin copper sodium in the fiber. These deodorants remove odors through adsorption and oxidative decomposition pathways. In addition, bamboo pulp fiber sweats quickly, making the living environment of microorganisms poor, and can also achieve deodorization effect. The comparative experimental results are shown in Table 3 p> Table 3 Bamboo Pulp Fiber Comparison of Cotton Deodorization Effect

5. Comparison of heat resistance between bamboo pulp fiber, cotton, and viscose
Viscose fiber has higher heat resistance than cotton, while bamboo pulp fiber has better heat resistance than viscose fiber. The strength changes of cellulose fibers when heated are shown in Table 4 p>

From the data in the table, it can be seen that, When the temperature rises from 20 ℃ to 75 ℃, the dry break strength of cotton fibers decreases by 26%, the dry break strength of viscose fibers increases by 12%, and the dry break strength of bamboo pulp fibers increases by 13%. This indicates that the changes in strength of viscose fibers and bamboo pulp fibers are the same below 75 ℃; When the temperature rises from 75 ℃ to 100 ℃, the dry break strength of cotton fibers decreases by 7%, the dry break strength of viscose fibers decreases by 16%, while the dry break strength of bamboo pulp fibers only decreases by 1%. The reason is that:
1) the disappearance of water in cellulose causes a change in strength p> 2) The decrease in intensity caused by the intensified thermal motion of each chain segment between macromolecules p> 3) The porous network structure of bamboo fibers has a buffering effect on heat conduction p> 4) Comparison of solubility and whiteness of bamboo pulp fibers and viscose p>
5) Solubility: The solubility of bamboo pulp fiber is greater than that of viscose fiber. The solubility of bamboo pulp fiber in 55.5% sulfuric acid solution is 32.16%, while that of viscose fiber is 19.07% p> 6) Whiteness: The whiteness of bamboo pulp fibers is generally around 67%, while the whiteness of viscose fibers is above 72% P>
