Warp knitting refers to the method of using longitudinal knots of warp yarn to form a fabric in weaving. The difference between warp knitting and weft knitting is that the coils formed by it are arranged vertically or in the warp direction, and are formed by adjacent yarns being connected to each other. The machine used for warp knitting looks somewhat like a loom, with all the yarn wound on a warp beam located behind and above the weaving area, and all the yarn is fed into the weaving area at the same time. During the splicing process, each yarn is controlled by a separate needle. However, the guide comb controls the position of the yarn, and the needle used during each loop formation may change. Jacquard mechanisms can be used to control the needles in order to produce warp knitted fabrics with complex patterns. Due to the characteristics of the process used in warp knitting, the position of the yarn supply device, and the interlocking of parallel yarns, it is sometimes referred to as a warp knitting machine. Fundamentally speaking, warp knitting is a processing system for producing open width fabrics. The fabric has straight side edges, high production speed, and large output. Warp knitted fabrics can be classified according to the equipment used and the characteristics of the fabric. The main types are: Trekoto, Raschel, Milanis, and Simplex, with the most common being Trekoto and Raschel. Warp knitted fabrics have a certain degree of elongation and stretchability, although their values are lower compared to weft knitted fabrics. The factors that affect the tensile properties of fabrics include: fabric structure (such as single comb, double comb warp knitted fabrics, and Raschel warp knitted fabrics); The tightness of the fabric (the tighter the fabric, the lower its tensile performance); Finishing process (which can give the fabric good dimensional stability); Machine number (i.e. the number of needles per unit width); The type of yarn (such as elastic core spun yarn, fancy yarn with low or poor elasticity, single or ply yarn with good dimensional stability). The methods to increase the strength of warp knitted fabrics include using high-strength fiber yarns, using yarns with balanced structures, and using higher machine numbers and fine high-strength yarns. In addition, using strands composed of different fiber yarns and changing the spacing between coils can affect the strength of the fabric. This document specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, and marking of lightweight warp knitted blankets. This document is applicable to the evaluation of the quality of lightweight warp knitted blankets made of various chemical fibers, whether pure or blended
